Of Swiss origin and Portuguese nationality, Ernesto Korrodi (1870-1944) stood out in the defence of the Portuguese built heritage, history and culture, and was one of the most important architects of his time in Portugal.
In 1897 he began working as an architect and was the author of around 400 projects throughout the country. He is one of the pioneers of Art Nouveau in Portugal, having won the Valmor Prize twice.
